Gasparilla Day Parade - Saturday, January 29, 2022.  Float arrival time is TBD, Participants must arrive by 1:00 PM, parade starts at 2:00 PM.  We are staging #19 (cross streets are TBD but will be close to W. Stovall St and Bayshore Blvd.  Parade starts at Bay to Bay and continues North to downtown, then turns on to Ashley. Walkers will have a chance to exit the parade route near Cass & Ashley. The float will continue on over the Cass St. Bridge prior to stopping. The float MUST follow police guidance and will not stop until authorities instruct to do so. If you want to exit the parade route in downtown, you should exit the float prior to Curtis Hixon Park.

Line-up & Timing Details: The float arrival time is TBD. The parade starts rolling at 2pm. We are #19 in the parade line-up. Please arrive at the float no later than 1pm to ensure you and guests are situated and ready to roll. We are near the front, so we will be rolling quickly after 2pm. We are behind a marching band and in front of a Cannon float – consider bringing earplugs if you have sensitive ears.

Costume Reminders: Full garb is required for this parade. Please remember costume guidelines & try your costume now! Costume policy is located on the website under Profile => Docs section. There are two costume events, check the calendar (Pirate Fashions on Jan 8th and Bebe's house on January 9th.)

Wristbands are Required: You must have a wristband to enter the staging area. Wristbands will be distributed at the bead drop. If you cannot make it to the bead drop, please text Denise Alexander or Rachael Alexander to see if someone can accommodate another way for you to pick up your wristband(s).

  • Direct from parade organizers: Attempting to participate in the parade without a wristband will result in the Krewe’s suspension from all Gasparilla Activity for up to 3 years.

Food & Drink: TBD.

Transportation: You must provide your own transportation to/from the parade.

The approximate location of the float in staging will be on Bayshore Blvd. near W Mason St and W Stovall St. We suggest parking at the end (Downtown area) and getting a ride to staging, or vice-versa. It is approximately a 6 mile walk from where the floats will be stopped at the end of the parade back to our original staging location.

There are two options, aside from a ride share / taxi / self-drive.

The first is through our Brigit sister, Susan Welsh. She will have a bus from the Hilton in downtown Tampa. They will drop off floatside.  Price of $15 includes cocktails. Please reach out to Susan to RSVP.

The second option is through the Sultans of the Egypt Shriner's.  For $25, you can park for free at the Shriner's,  and their shuttle will take you to the staging area and bring you back afterwards.  If you are interested in this option, please let me know and I will forward the link to you. They have 10:30 am and 11:00 am departures available currently.  You will need to act quickly as these will go fast!
